Different than any other fitness experience...

Essential Fitness is a unique concept in fitness - a membership based personal training studio. By creating a club of personal training members we are able to provide a level of service that far surpasses that of gyms or traditional personal training studios.

Members receive individual attention, a complete fitness and health assessment and their progress is constantly monitored by our team of professional trainers. Members are paired up for Tandem workouts, or members can take advantage of Team workouts of up to six members.

How it Works

Rather than pay $50-$85 per session like most trainers charge, our clients become members of Essential Fitness. Members are entitled to unlimited 55 minute tandem and team personal training sessions.

All members start with our First Steps program which starts with a one-on-one orientation visit where we discuss your goals and perform a series of fitness evaluations and body measurements. When you join Essential Fitness you will be presented with a comprehensive fitness report outlining your current fitness level along with recommendations to help you achieve your goals safely and efficiently.

Our Trainers

Our trainers come from a variety of backgrounds and we have taken these strengths to create a powerful training environment for you. We feel a successful team works together, sharing strengths to achieve common goals. This allows us as trainers to achieve our primary goal: to support our clients as best as possible.

Along with a wealth of experience, all of our trainers have college degrees in fitness, or a top national certification. In addition, continuing education is a priority for us, and we make sure that we’re always on the cutting edge of fitness training. We want to be the best we can be in order to make you the best you can be. It’s a core element of our philosophy and we think it makes all the difference.

Neil has many years experience as an athlete, coach and trainer. His past experience as an elite amateur bike racer and current age group competitive triathlete keeps his skills sharp when it comes to training for competition. As a trainer Neil has opened two fitness centers with his wife Eileen and has helped hundreds of Denver residents achieve and exceed their fitness and weight loss goals.

The thing that comes through the most when working with Neil is his obvious passion for helping others become fit and feeling great. Never the “drill sergeant”, Neil has a more subtle approach that is very motivating and inspiring due to his lasting approach to exercise.

Neil prefers to use all the fitness tools at his disposal to keep the workouts fresh and exciting. His approach leans toward multi-joint exercises using heavy weights when appropriate. Many people are often surprised when they see how strong they actually can become, and under expert supervision this approach can often yield the highest return in the shortest amount of time.

Eileen has been a gym regular since the days of unitards and leg warmers and has been an active triathlete for many years. Her more recent focus on running events has taken her to multiple marathon finishes.

Eileen has a well rounded approach to fitness that can benefit almost anybody. Her pleasant demeanor puts people so much at ease that before you even know it, you’ve had a great workout!

As a trainer Eileen believes in combining a series of strength machines, cardio machines, free weights, and functional fitness exercises- exercises that mimic everyday activities.  This approach results in teaching the body to work as a unit and strengthens the core muscle group which drastically enhances your total body fitness. 

 

Jenn Brodzeller CPT

Jenn has been an avid athlete since high school and became interseted in long distance running 7 yrs ago. Specializing in half and full marathons, sprint triathlons and participating in 170 mile relays, she has established herself as a "hardcore" endurance athlete.


Jenn's love of exercise makes her a natural personal trainer and pilates instructor, and her passion to help others want to be fit and exercise is evident when working with her.


Jenn likes to incorporate strong abdominal and balance exercises along with strength and interval training for the perfect mix of complete fitness.

 

Jon Schwear CPT

Jon specializes in strength and conditioning for sports performance (both competitive and recreational) as well as toning and shaping.  He has worked with people of all ages and exercise backgrounds and his commitment is to train strong and healthy individuals to their full potential. He believes in focusing on injury prevention through proper training and providing knowledge to take with them for the rest of their lives.


Jon has worked in the fitness industry for over 10 years and loves making a difference in people’s lives.  He stresses the importance of having a structured program to keep you motivated and accountable so that you can live a more active and healthy lifestyle.  It’s never too late to be in the best shape of your life. 

 

Darrin Kubik CPT

Darrin Kubik is a certified fitness expert with more than 7 years of fitness training experience.  Darrin likes to incorporate all aspects of whole body fitness including dynamic flexibility, core strength, stability ball training, speed and explosive power, weight management, and strength training.

 

Katy Proietti B.A., RYT

University of Utah Certified Yoga Instructor

Katy Proietti came to yoga from a history in competitive athletics. After years of training she needed to become more connected not only to her body, but also her inner spirit. As her personal yoga practice deepened, Katy started recognizing improvements in her body and overall wellbeing. She has practiced and taught a variety of styles of yoga including Ashtanga, Hatha, Bikram/Hot, Anusara, Vinyasa, Iyengar, Kid’s and Chair Yoga. Katy also offers classes to stroke survivors at the Rocky Mountain Stroke Center. To become certified, Katy underwent 200 hours of training at the University of Utah to become a Yoga Instructor.

Katy shares a playful, energetic style that allows students to find peace in a hectic world while strengthening their bodies, quieting their minds and nourishing their hearts.

She can’t wait to see you all on the mat!
